Growing up as a total nature-loving kid, I figured diving back into the great outdoors would be a no-brainer. I mean, I’ve always been all about trees, and running water has always been my thing. But wow, when I look back at the photos from my first few trips into the woods, it’s pretty obvious I became completely hooked on something new—mushrooms and lichen!
Thanks to mindfulness, I learned to slow down and really take in all the little details. And let me tell you, I got lucky. I spotted these teeny-tiny, see-through mushrooms, no bigger than a few millimeters, growing on a tree trunk, plus these crazy, fascinating clusters I’d never seen before. Blew my mind.
Take it slow, and you’re bound to notice so much more—and who knows? You might just find your next obsession!
